Terms of Service
Effective July 31, 2026
These Terms govern requests and services provided by ElectricRoc, operated by Empire Plates, Inc., whose business mailing address is 21 Goodway Drive, Rochester, NY 14623. This is not a walk-in counter or device drop-off. ElectricRoc currently reviews each request individually. Submitting a request means you agree to these Terms, but it does not create a repair contract, guarantee service or pickup, or require either party to proceed.
Repair requests and acceptance
A website request is an invitation for review, not an appointment, diagnosis, quote, or promise that we will accept the repair. We may decline work based on device value, parts availability, safety, damage, required expertise, service area, or repair risk.
Quotes and changed conditions
An accepted job begins only after we provide a written quote and you approve its stated work and payment terms. A quote is based on the information available before disassembly. If inspection reveals additional damage, incompatible parts, prior repair problems, or a different fault, we will pause and request approval before additional work. The quote must identify how to approve it and disclose cancellation terms, any charge that may remain if an attempted repair is unsuccessful, and return arrangements for an unrepaired device. No paid work begins until those terms are provided and accepted. Applicable sales tax is added as required by New York law.
Parts and payment
A quote may require payment of the approved part cost before it is ordered. The quote will state the accepted payment method and whether a special-order part is refundable if you cancel. We do not order a part based only on a public intake submission. Do not send payment until you receive and approve a written ElectricRoc quote.
Timing
Parts lead time and repair time are separate. The written quote provides the current estimate for the proposed part and repair. Availability, inspection, hidden damage, testing, or a different required part can change that estimate; no completion time is guaranteed.
Pickup, custody, and return
Pickup and return may be offered for approved repairs within the current Rochester-area service ZIP codes. Availability and any pickup or return charge are stated in the written quote. Exact location and timing are confirmed separately. The listed business address is not a walk-in counter or device drop-off. At handoff, we may photograph the device, record accessories and visible condition, verify identity, and provide a custody record. You must not hand over unrelated accessories, payment cards, cases, or storage media unless listed on that record.
Ownership and lawful use
You represent that you own the device or are authorized by its owner to request repair. We may request reasonable proof of ownership or identity and may refuse a device that appears lost, stolen, altered for unlawful use, unsafe, or materially different from the request.
Data and device access
Back up important data before pickup whenever possible. Repair, testing, software updates, storage failure, and pre-existing damage can result in data loss. Do not enter a passcode in the public form. If limited device access is required for testing, it will be arranged separately and used only for the approved service.
Parts, water resistance, and existing damage
Replacement parts may differ from original manufacturer parts unless the written quote states otherwise. Opening a device can affect manufacturer warranties, seals, and water-resistance ratings. ElectricRoc does not promise restored water resistance. We are not responsible for defects, modifications, or damage that existed before custody or could not reasonably be detected during intake.
Repair warranty
Any repair or part warranty will be stated in the written quote or final receipt. Unless stated there, no separate repair warranty is offered. A warranty does not cover new impact, liquid exposure, misuse, unrelated failures, customer-supplied parts, or later work by another provider.
Communications
We use the email address submitted with your request for repair questions, decisions, quotes, and pickup or return coordination. Your private status page may also show updates. Its link is displayed immediately after submission, is not automatically emailed, and should be kept private. See our Privacy Policy.
Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for an accepted repair is limited to the remedies and amounts stated in the written repair agreement. Nothing in these Terms waives rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law and changes
New York law governs these Terms. We may update them for future requests by posting a revised effective date. Terms attached to an accepted written quote control if they conflict with this page.
